How to use the ESV Bible Reference Box

If a scripture reference is linked to the ESV.org site, it will be blue as in the reference below on the right.

If you are using a mouse or touchpad, just hover over the reference with the cursor and the Scripture will appear in a box.  Don’t click on the reference or it will take you to the ESV.org site with the whole Bible that is opened to that reference.  That would be useful if you would like to get more context, but usually, for our purposes here that would be distracting.
You can use the mouse cursor in the box to move the scroll bar or click on the speaker icon to have the passage read.  Clicking it again pauses the reading.  If you move the cursor outside of the box, it goes away, but the reading continues.

If you are using a smartphone, tap the reference and the Scripture will appear in a box.  Swipe to scroll.  Tap the speaker icon to have the passage read.  Tapping the icon again will pause the reading.  If you tap outside of the box, it goes away, but the reading continues.  Tapping the reference inside the box will take you to the ESV.org site with the whole Bible that is opened to that reference.  That would be useful if you would like to get more context, but usually, for our purposes here that would be distracting.
